Breeding gray cattle is a living passion at Wendlhof. For the small mountain farm, the yield is secondary, the love of animal husbandry is paramount. As a native breed, the Tiroler Grauvieh has adapted ideally to its habitat in alpine terrain. Like most of their Tyrolean counterparts, the Wendlhof animals spend their summers on the mountain pastures.

This grazing has a significant influence on the quality of the meat. This is because the animals develop strong muscles in the steep terrain and store the aroma of the alpine flora with every bite of grass.
