Label Rouge Salmon

Salmon
Scotland

Quality always makes the difference.

It is particularly worth taking a look at the quality of salmon. Label Rouge salmon stands out from the crowd. It impresses with its delicate orange, marbled flesh, fine taste, firm texture and fine melting. In addition, Scottish Label Rouge salmon is free from harmful substances and rich in valuable nutrients, especially the essential omega-3 fatty acids.

Where the strong winds of the Scottish Highlands sweep across the Atlantic and the cold, clear sea water is still full of valuable natural food, the Label Rouge salmon make their rounds. Due to the strong current, they actively perform at their best. These are all factors that pay off with excellent quality.

Scottish salmon was the first fish and at the same time the first non-French product to be awarded the prestigious Label Rouge in 1992 due to its natural characteristics alone. Scottish salmon farmers have always been concerned with the highest quality. The Rouge label has also guaranteed compliance with strict quality standards for over 30 years.

Label Rouge salmon is fed exclusively with marine and vegetable products, with particular attention paid to the supply of important minerals, vitamins and carotenoids. In addition to feeding and a low stocking density of a maximum of 15 kg of salmon per square meter, animal and environmentally friendly farming is also monitored. When fed and kept in a species-appropriate manner, Scottish salmon develop a low fat content of no more than 16%. An officially approved certification body carries out regular checks and quality and taste tests. And a stringent identification system enables the salmon to be fully traced from birth to the plate.

In contrast to conventional salmon, the Scottish label Rouge salmon was also awarded the status of a protected geographical indication (PGI) in 2004. The EU seal of quality identifies traditional regional products and guarantees their origin.

As the numerous seals of approval suggest, the Scottish fish delights with a clean, fine salmon flavor. A flavor guarantee that delights bite after bite.
